Ladies, this one’s especially Made For You!

Dave Simpson was pleased to interview Lou Fellingham recently about her upcoming Made for You Conference for women in the Southwest. Lou is a prominent UK singer songwriter and author who has been in the music industry for 28 years. Some will remember her as the lead singer of Phatfish while others will know her from her weekly Worship Wednesdays. Lou is also the host of a series of Made For You Conferences.

Made For You Liskeard

“I love ministering, preaching, leading worship and I love to gather women,” says Lou. “I think it’s wonderful when women come together. And that’s not to exclude men, but on these occasions we really just want to celebrate the value women bring to society and strengthen and encourage them in their walk with God.”

Edinburgh has already hosted a Made For You Conference this year and now it is the turn of the Southwest, with Norwich coming up in June. The 1 Day conference in Liskeard will feature Lou Fellingham and friends including Cathy Madavan and Elle Limebear.

“At the start of each Made For You event, I do my makeup and try to look as good as I can but within minutes I’m already weeping because it’s so precious to hear all the women singing,” says Lou. “We worship together, listen and respond. It’s a very special day with so many connections happening and we’ve known God to really speak to so many ladies. This in turn will have an impact on their homes, families, workplaces and local churches. So we’re really believing God for great things.”

Worship Wednesdays

During the Cross Rhythms Interview, Dave asks Lou how Worship Wednesdays came about.

“Before Covid we used to do a lot of LIVE events. We travelled to do gigs and we were about to launch the Made For You women’s conferences. I did my first one and a week later the world went into Lockdown, and everything got cancelled. At that point, it was like, ‘What are we going to do now?’

“A good friend of ours, Olly Knight started, ‘Come and sing with me’, inviting people to join in Monday to Friday for half an hour in the mornings. The intent was to keep the church singing even though we couldn’t be singing next to each other. We could still do it online. So that was the seed of Worship Wednesdays. We started in May 2020 and have continued for what will soon be three years. We have really felt God’s smile on this, seen His favour and really enjoy the online sessions.

“We also started Coffee Mornings online, as a taster for our women’s conferences, but that’s for everybody, not just women. We haven’t stopped Worship Wednesdays because there’s a real community that has stayed online. There are still many people who can’t get to church and it’s a great time when we can gather together midweek, sing together and pray for one another. People put prayer requests up, we care for one another and enjoy God together. And that has just continued.”
