Chris Cole

Role at Cross Rhythms Plymouth:  Chris founded Cross Rhythms in 1983 with his first programme on local radio Plymouth Sound (ILR) called the Solid Rock of Jesus Christ. He is the Chair of the local Cross Rhythms charity and co-chair of the national Cross Rhythms charity.

About:  Chris’ maternal side of the family were based in Cornwall and Plymouth for generations. After a dramatic spiritual conversion through Jesus Christ on December 6th, 1981 at 11.30 pm, Chris’ life radically changed and he moved back to Plymouth after living in Brussels, Belgium for 10 years. he started a business called Cornerstone Advertising and Marketing and from the business started Cross Rhythms as a Charity. He is now involved in academic research and sits on a number of charitable boards as well as leading a small Christian fellowship. He and his wife Kerry have been married since 1982 and have three lovely daughters, who are shown in the picture above, and three grand children. This picture is his most precious possession. Cross Rhythms grew out of the Solid Rock of Jesus Christ to programmes being broadcast throughout the world; a radio station in Bethlehem; community stations in Stoke-on-Trent and Plymouth and a new project called X-Rhythms for the younger generation.

Faith:  Chris’ Christian faith has been the central focus and motivation in all that he has been involved in since his conversion. He is focused on Christian media and has seen Christian media grow and expand globally over the years through satellite and the internet. He see’s the global Christian faith community of around 2.4 billion people as the true expression of a global Christian community and a powerful instrument of communication for Christian values as we will learn from each other across the world.

Favourite Food:  Anything that really tastes nice and is cooked well.

Fun Fact:  Before his conversion Chris owned a discotheque in Brussels in the 1970’s and would regularly spend time with prominent DJ Wolfman Jack (see the film American Graffiti if you haven’t heard of him…) Chris is also an avid film buff.
